Fibroscan - a non-invasive method for detecting liver cirrhosis and assessing the degree of fibrosis
At Nairi Medical Center, a new non-invasive method for detecting liver cirrhosis and assessing the degree of fibrosis — Fibroscan — has been introduced as an alternative to liver biopsy.
Liver fibrosis is a key indicator of liver disease progression and one of the main predictors of an unfavorable clinical outcome. Determining the degree of fibrosis has prognostic value and helps to select the most effective treatment strategy.

The examination is indicated for all chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis B and C, alcohol-related liver disease, fatty hepatosis, and autoimmune hepatitis.
Assessment of liver elastometry data should be performed before and after the course of treatment. In cases of severe liver damage (F3–F4), improvement of fibrosis indicators may take several years, which is why long-term monitoring is recommended after treatment.
The procedure is painless and non-invasive, requires no special preparation, and takes approximately 10–15 minutes
