Safe Venous and Arterial Surgeries at Nairi Medical Center

01 Apr 2019

As one of Armenia’s leading clinics, Nairi Medical Center consistently ensures modern conditions and high-quality care for its patients. Fortunately, all services have thus far been provided smoothly and effectively.

The Vascular Surgery Department of Nairi Medical Center adheres to the same principles and is regarded as a leader in the field. Dr. Garik Sargsyan, Head of the Department, explains why patients place their trust in them.

The department addresses vascular health issues using the latest technologies with high efficiency. It is equipped with advanced medical devices that enable effective treatment and surgical interventions for a wide range of conditions. Both conservative and surgical approaches comply with international standards.

All types of venous and arterial pathologies, vascular tumors, and thrombotic complications are treated and operated on. Reconstructive and complex arterial surgeries, as well as all types of venous procedures, are performed at the center.

Conditions treated include chronic vascular diseases, arterial occlusion, complications of atherosclerosis, correction of vascular tortuosity, and arterial and venous malformations.

Vascular surgeries are carried out without incisions, preserving the aesthetic appearance of the skin. In venous pathologies, the laser method is applied as an innovative approach: performing the procedure without incisions, under duplex guidance, with targeted drug injection into the vein.

Special focus is placed on managing vascular complications caused by diabetes. Treatments include surgeries to address diabetic angiopathies affecting the lower limbs, such as diabetic foot, gangrene, and chronic wounds. Care for diabetic patients is organized comprehensively, involving endocrinologists, endovascular surgeons, vascular surgeons, and cardiologists. The first step is always to balance blood sugar levels. In cases of gangrene resulting from diabetic foot, amputations may be performed, preventing life-threatening risks. The primary goal, however, is to save the patient’s limb and prevent progression to severe stages.
